Gosea Kayak Tour
A highlight of your stay in Byron Bay will be this ocean adventure padding with dolphins and learning the local Aboriginal stories and sacred places.

1. Your 3 hour kayak tour will start at Byron Bay beach
  • Meet all your fellow paddlers
  • Pair up on the 2 person kayaks
  • Learn the basics of paddling a sit-on-top kayak
2. Then we hit the ocean
  • Impress your friends (and yourself, just quietly) getting out past the shore break
  • Learn about local Aboriginal stories and sacred places
  • Paddle along The Pass surfing mecca, Wategos millionaire row and Cape Byron, Australia's most Easterly point
  • And keep an eye out for those cheeky dolphins
3. Take a Break
  • Refreshments and a swim
4. Paddle back to the main beach
  • You shouldn't have eaten so many Tim Tams!
  • You might surf a wave back to shore

Questions
Will I see dolphins?

You will be paddling in the famous Cape Byron Marine Park where the dolphins, turtles and whales roam free

It is a privilege to experience the company of these wild dolphins in the ocean

However on most Byron Bay tours the dolphins will be sighted

During whale season, you will also see whales on many Byron Bay tours

Will I get wet?

YES

Only waterproof cameras are suitable

All your belongings can be securely locked in our trailer

Fitness

If you have a sense of adventure you will be fine

You do not need to be superman or the bionic woman

You do not need to be an experienced paddler

Most of our customers have never paddled before and they love it

What if I can't swim?

You are still welcome to paddle

Please notify your guide if you are a non-swimmer

All paddlers are fitted with a lifejacket


What do I need?

Wear your cossies [That’s Aussie for swimming costume]

Long sleeve rash shirt to protect from sun is handy

Sunscreen, especially on legs and feet

Baseball hat and sunnies are good under your helmet

You are provided with all safety equipment.
